A woman has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after driving erratically the wrong way on the M25.

Hanjarina Oliveira, 39, of Bath Road, Enfield, was arrested on 10 February 2021 following the incident between Junction 8 and 9 at Leatherhead.

On Monday (14 June) Oliveira was sentenced to a year behind bars and disqualified from driving for 3 years and 6 months.

She had previously pleaded guilty to driving dangerously, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence, failing to provide a sample of breath, and two counts of assault of an emergency worker.

Investigating officer, PC Tim Browne said: “Driving while under the influence of alcohol is completely unacceptable and Oliveira’s reckless actions could very easily have had catastrophic consequences.

“Our officers put themselves in harm’s way to stop the vehicle and thankfully we were able to prevent anyone being injured.”
