Police are investigating a serious assault on a woman on a train last month, between London Waterloo and Farnborough.

British Transport Police say it happened just after midnight on 29 August, when, following a verbal altercation in a carriage, the victim was repeatedly punched in the head by another woman.

She and her friend moved away from the woman, before getting off at Farnborough Main, where they encountered the same woman again - this time with two men - at the taxi rank.

The pair were followed in to the train station by the men, who took their phones off them, and threw one on the platform and one on to the tracks.

The victim was also attacked by one of the men.

She suffered significant facial injuries as a result - including three fractured bones in her face and severe swelling to her eye.

Police have issued CCTV images of people they believe could help them with their investigation.
