Woman dies after house fire in Sutton
A man was seen leaving the property shortly before flames broke out
A woman has died after a house fire in Sutton yesterday.
Fire crews were called to St James' Road at 12:41pm yesterday, finding the ground floor of a property alight.
Flames were brought under control by 13:05pm.
An older woman was found on the ground floor and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man was seen to leave the property shortly before fire crews arrived.
Fire crews from Sutton, Wallington and New Malden fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
