Woman attacked in Aldershot town centre

Police are investigating an assault on a woman in Aldershot last week.

They were called at around 2:15pm last Thursday afternoon to Wellingston Street, after a report of an assault on the woman in her 30s.

A 33 year old man from the town has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and criminal damage.

He has been released on bail.

Officers say several people helped the victim after it happened.

They are appealing for those people, and anyone who witnessed the attack, to contact them.
