A man who exposed himself to a young girl in Surrey has been sentenced.

48 year old Jose Adriano Pinto Mota from Woking was sentenced to an 18 month community order and placed on the sex offenders register for five years after he appeared at Guildford Crown Court.

The incident happened on Bromfield Road in Ewell on 31 March when a 13 year old girl was walking to the park with her 11 year old sister.

The girls noticed Mota’s white delivery van parked in the street.

Mota opened the door of his van and exposed himself to the 13 year-old, and then both girls ran away.

Doorbell footage from neighbouring houses confirmed Mota’s van was on Brumfield Road at the time of the offence and upon arresting Mota, he provided a full confession.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and was ordered to carry out 25 days of rehabilitation activity and to pay £100 to pay in compensation to each of the victims and £138 in further costs.

Inspector Jon Vale, Epsom and Ewell Borough Commander, said:

“The young girls were understandably very distressed following this incident and we’ve been working with the families to provide support.

"As a force, we’re absolutely committed to tackling violence and harassment against women and girls, and we’re pleased to have secured a successful conviction for this offence.”
