Witness appeal after taxi driver assaulted in Bagshot

Police are looking for witnesses after a taxi driver was assaulted by a passenger in Bagshot.

It happened on Bracknell Road, just off the A322, at around 1am on Friday (November 26)

The driver has picked up two men and two women in Camberley and was midway through a journey when an argument broke out over directions and payments.

He pulled over in an attempt to get the passengers to leave. He was then attacked by one of the men, who approached the driver's side door.

He was punched repeatedly and suffered facial bleeding and bruising.

The suspect is described as white, tall with brown hair and wearing smart clothing.

The other male passenger is described as white with brown hair. He was wearing a brown suit.

Both women were white, had their hair up and were wearing some glitter.

Inspector Jamie Hughes, of Surrey Police said: “This was a violent assault on someone who was just trying to do their job.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen two men and two women getting out of a car at around this time and location or if they have any information which could help us with our investigation.”
