Windlesham man dies after hitting tree while cycling

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers

Police say a cyclist who died after colliding with a tree in Oxfordshire was from Surrey.

The man in his fifties and from Windlesham was pronounced dead at the scene in Henley on Sunday afternoon (4 April), at around 2.40pm.

His next of kin have been informed and are said to be receiving support from specially trained officers.

The man was travelling along Marlow Road, towards Marlow, when the incident happened, with no other vehicles thought to have been involved.

Sergeant Darren Brown from Thames Valley Police said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this difficult time.

“We are investigating the circumstances following this incident and we would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident to please come forward.

“Additionally we would ask drivers in the area at the time to please check their dash-cams and contact us if they have any relevant footage.
