When to put your bin out in Surrey over Christmas
With Christmas Day and Boxing Day falling at the weekend this year, there will be substitute days off for both on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28.
That means some councils in Surrey will be operating slightly different recycling and rubbish schedules.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service has compiled a list of all the collection dates this December and January so you can dispose of all that wrapping paper in time.
Elmbridge
There are no changes to bin collections over the Christmas and New Year period.
Epsom & Ewell
All collections are as normal up to and including Friday 24 December.
There will be no refuse collections during the week starting 27 December – put recycling bins out only.

Mole Valley
Waste and recycling bin collection days will remain the same over the festive period.
Reigate and Banstead
Recycling and refuse collections will continue as usual over the festive bank holidays on 27 and 28 December and 3 January.
The garden waste service will take its usual two-week break, from Monday 27 December. Members will be able to put their Christmas trees out for collection during January once the service resumes on Monday 10.
Runnymede
There will be no changes to the household and recycling collection schedule over the festive period.
Garden waste collections will be suspended for two weeks from Monday 27 December and regular collections will start again from Monday 10 January.
Spelthorne
There are no changes to the collection days for rubbish and recycling over Christmas and New Year.
Garden waste collections stopped for six weeks from December – the week commencing 6 December or 13 December, depending on your collection round.
Surrey Heath
Collection dates over Christmas and the New Year will remain the same.
Although the suspension of the garden waste service due to the national shortage of HGV drivers remains in place in Surrey Heath, there is a one-off collection scheduled to take place either the week commencing 10 or 17 January, depending on your usual garden waste collection week.
