Information evening for residents about 12 km water pipe between Fleet and Odiham
Residents can ask how they will disrupted
Residents are invited to meet South East Water tonight about a project to install a 12 kilometre-long water pipe between Fleet and Odiham.
The £10 million started in June this year, and moves into the Elvetham Heath area in May 2022 - where a footpath will be closed.
The company says it will be in the area in December to carry out some vegetation clearance work.
So far more than two kilometres has been installed.
South East Water is currently working in Cove Road and Bagwell Lane and will next be moving into Fleet Road, Fleet and The Hurst, Winchfield.
Matthew Cooper, South East Water project manager, said: “We know this phase of the project will cause some disruption to the local residents as it is well used, but the only way we can ensure the safety of the public and our workforce is to close it for the duration of the work.
“Understandably, this closure may cause some concern so we’re welcoming residents to come and meet us and ask any questions at the Key Centre, The Key, Fleet, between 7pm and 9pm on 10 November.
“We hope to see many of you there and look forward to putting your minds at ease about the project.”
A public information session is being held tonight at the Key Centre, in Fleet, between 7pm and 9pm.
