Water leak repair shuts key Farnham road for three weeks
Emergency repairs mean a key road in Farnham will be closed for around three weeks.
South East Water says there's a water leak on Frensham Road that needs fixing.
The water company says it needs to install a 50 metres of new pipe in order to take a leaking section of pipe out of supply.
Philip Cereda, Regional Works Delivery Manager, said:
“We’re extremely sorry for any disruption this vital, emergency work may cause.
“The leak has caused a lot of disruption to the local community so we need to get it repaired as soon as possible.
“Unfortunately, a retaining wall was built on top of the leaking pipe so our only choice is to install a new section of water main to replace the leaking one.”
Frensham Road was closed from yesterday (Monday 25 July) for approximately three weeks.
Diversions will be in place
For light traffic, the diversion route will be along Tillford Road, Thursley Road, Charles Hill, Waverley Lane, Tilford Road, Great Austins, Old Farnham Lane and Frensham Road.
Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) will need to follow a route through A287 to Hindhead, A3, Puttenham Heath Road, A31, Waverley Lane, Tilford Road, Great Austins, Old Farnham Lane and Fresnham Road.
