Police have issued advice about parking security in Aldershot after reports of catalytic converter thefts.

Officers say vans and similar vehicles which are higher off the ground are being targeted.

They say the raised height makes it easier for thieves to get the converters off - possibly with hacksaws.

They are suggesting locals consider parking in a garage or car port, or other secure area, making sure the area is overlooked and well lit.

They are also asking residents to look out for people who appear to be working on cars - and if something looks suspicious to contact them by calling 101 - or 999 in an emergency.
