People in Walton are being advised not to be concerned if they see a large emergency services presence near Apps Court Farm and Xcel Leisure Centre between 9am and 2pm on Wednesday (22 October).

The activity is part of a routine mock exercise involving multiple agencies to help prepare emergency teams for handling a complex incident.

Residents are being reassured that this is not related to any actual emergency, but a training event to improve preparedness in the event of a real situation in the future.

The exercise will involve a visible presence of emergency service vehicles and personnel in the area between the two locations, but the public is being told not to be alarmed.

The agencies involved say these drills are a standard part of ensuring they are ready to respond to any eventuality and ask people to go about their day as normal.
