Two Surrey theme parks to close for Queen's funeral

Both Chessington & Thorpe Park will shut for the day.

Two Surrey theme parks have confirmed they will be closing on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday (19 September).

Chessington World of Adventures Resort has said by shutting, it will allow both staff and guests to pay their respects during the period of national remembrance.

Meanwhile, Thorpe Park will also be shutting their doors on Monday for the state funeral of the late monarch.

Their onsite Shark Cabins will also be closed on Sunday (18 September).
