Two roads in Surrey named as most dangerous for speeding

That is according to a freedom of information request

Surrey is home to two of the most dangerous roads for speeding according to newly released figures.

Despite the country going through two lockdowns the stretch of the M25 that is in Surrey saw 23,558 speeding offences recorded by police in 2019-2020 while the M3 saw 13,331.

That is according to a freedom of information request made to Surrey Police.

On a list of the top 10 most dangerous roads for speeding the M25 in Surrey ranked second and the M3 tenth.

The data, from car rental service Wessex Fleet found the A282 in Kent was the most dangerous road.

More than half of the safest areas are governed by Northern police forces, with Gloucestershire being the only from the South of England to feature.

With a total of 323,222 speeding offences recorded by Southern forces in the most dangerous list, and only 20,716 in the Northern regions the research suggests that the North is nearly 20 times safer than the South when it comes to speeding.
