Two people arrested after 15-year-old boy "stabbed" at Farncombe Station

Two people have been arrested in connection with a serious assault at Farncombe Station.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and an 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of affreay.

They are in police custody.

A 15-year-old boy is in hospital after suffering injuries that are "consistent with having been stabbed".

He is currently still in hospital, and is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

British Transport Police were called to Farncombe Station last night (March 23) at 6:10pm after there were reports of a serious assault.

They have confirmed that they would be staying at the station overnight and in the coming days for people with concerns to ask questions.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said:

"Two people have been arrested in connection with a serious assault at Farncombe Station last night.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and an 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of affray. Both are currently in police custody.

The victim, a 15-year-old boy, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. Our officers will be at the station and around the area over the coming days so if you have any concerns, please do speak to them.

Last night, South Western Railway posted on Twitter to say the station would be closed whilst police were dealing with the incident.

The service put replacement transport in place.

National Rail later posted to announce trains can now go through the station.

Officers still remain at the scene.
