Police in Surrey are warning of traffic disruption as an 'abnormal load' is driven through the county.

An electricity transformer, which is 58 metres long and 5 metres wide, is being escorted by officers.

The load will start its journey in Luton, Bedfordshire, travelling along the M1 and A405, before joining the M25 at junction 19.

It will travel anti-clockwise until it reaches junction 11, where it will then use the A320 St Peter's Way to travel through Ottershaw and Sheerwater.

The load will come to a stop in Pinewood Grove, New Haw, Addlestone.

Part of the road will remain close until Monday, when it will make its final journey to West Weybridge Substation.

Surrey Police say they're hoping to minimise traffic disruption, but are advising drivers to be aware of the load's route, and plan their journeys accordingly.
