Thames Water issue update following supply problems in Surrey
It follows a week of disruption in Godalming and Guildford
After a week of disruption Thames Water say all customers should now have their water supply back.
Some people make experience low pressure but that should improve as the day goes on.
Thames Water said last week that the lack of supply was caused to problems discovered at the Shalford water treatment centre in the wake of Storm Ciarán.
Thousands of households in Guildford and Godalming did not have running water for several days and a major incident was declared last weekend (5 November).
Many residents had to rely on bottled water stations that were set up by Thames Water every day this week.
By Thursday (9 November) the majority of households had their water supply back but then a separate issue at Ladymead Water Treatment Works north of Guildford meant households were once again without water.
However, Thames Water released a further update this morning (10 November) to say all customers should now have their water back:
"All customers should now have water, although pressure may be lower than normal in places – this will improve through the day.
"If you still have no supply, please let us know on 0800 316 9800
"We’ll be opening bottled water stations again – we’ll let you know the details here as soon as they’re up and running.
"We’re really sorry about these continuing problems and how long it’s taken to improve things.
"We’ll issue compensation automatically to customers in line with our Customer Guarantee Scheme, and payments will be made within one month."
