18 year old robbed at knifepoint in Guildford
A group of five men stole an e-scooter last week
Police are appealing for information after an 18 year old was robbed at knifepoint in Guildford.
The incident happened last Thursday (4 March) at around 7pm.
The victim was outside the Londis store on Bedford Road in Guildford with his girlfriend and a male friend, with the black Electric S10 e-scooter propped on its stand outside.
They were approached by a group of five unknown men.
One of the men demanded the scooter and one of the five brought out a knife.
The scooter was then picked up by one of them who ran off with it towards Onslow Street.
The scooter owner and his friend ran after the group and managed to catch up with them outside Casino on Onslow Street.
The victim’s friend was kicked in the face, leaving him in shock but unhurt.
DC Anthony Gravener, who is investigating, says:
“If you can help us understand more about what happened last week, or help us to identify any of the group of men who committed this crime, we want to hear from you.
“The victim of this frightening crime had taken delivery of the e-scooter only the day before, and it was his first day out riding it.
I’d like to find the people who took it for his sake, but also to gain some justice for his friend who was violently attacked during the process of the robbery.”
