Teen charged after Jeep rams police cars on A3 at Guildford

Officers said the vehicle also tried to drive the wrong way down the route.

A teenager from London has been charged with multiple offences following an incident on the A3 in Guildford last night (22 November).

Surrey Road Police said in a tweet they attempted to stop a stolen Jeep and in attempt to evade officers several police cars were rammed, adding the vehicle "tried to drive the wrong way down the A3 at Guildford".

Officers said: "Two brave officers forced him to stop to protect the pubic."

18 year old Yahye Yusuf of Perryn Road, Ealing, was arrested after being stopped on the southbound carriageway at the cathedral exit in Guildford at around 8.20pm.

The teenager has been charged with the following offences:

-Aggravated vehicle-taking

-Dangerous driving

-Failing to stop for police

-Possession of an offensive weapon

-Driving without a licence or insurance

Yusuf has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on 21 December.
