Surrey Police say enquiries are ongoing after a suspected stolen car was torched in Guildford.

Officers responded to a call to a car on fire at The Mount in Guildford on Saturday (14 August) at around 10.55pm.

A burnt out vehicle was found at the scene. No one was in the vehicle at the time it was set alight or crashed.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service and the South East Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

In a statement officers said: “We believe this is linked to a report of a vehicle that had been stolen on Lawn Road in Guildford a short time earlier the same evening.

“Enquiries are ongoing at this time.”
