Surrey Police warning over "potential killer" drug being sold as cocaine
A man is in hospital in a critical condition
Surrey Police have issued a warning about a drug being sold as cocaine in the county which could contain potentially lethal ingredients.
They were notified at the weekend, after a man in Woking had to be hospitalised.
He remains in a critical condition.
The force say they do not condone drug use of any type - and that the risk in taking recreational drugs is that people do not know what they are laced with.
Officers are urging anyone who believes they might have bought this drug NOT to take it - but to get rid of it by taking it to their local police station, or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously.
They are also urging anyone who may have taken drugs and has concerns to seek urgent medical help.
The force is appealing for help: "We also need the co-operation of drug users, and their friends and family, to get this potential killer off the streets.
"If you believe you have bought this drug, do not take it.
"Get rid of it by bringing it to your local police station or contacting Crimestoppers if you would rather remain anonymous".
Anyone with information around the potential supply of this cocaine can contact Surrey Police, quoting crime reference number PR/ 45210104112, via:
