Police say the suspects threatened the victim with a hammer, before stealing tools from the back of the van.
Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses, after tools were stolen during a robbery of a van driver near West Horsley, and have said that tool thefts "ruin the livelihoods of tradespeople".
The incident happened between 10:50 am and 11:10 am on Ripley Lane on the 11th of December, during which the drivers of two vans blocked a work van in the road. The suspects threatened the victim with a hammer, before stealing tools from the back of the van.
The suspects included five White men, three of whom were in a white Ford Transit van, with one man described as wearing a cap and the other two with their hoods up. They all fled in the direction of Ockham and the A3.
