East Surrey Hospital is calling on local nurses who have left the NHS in recent years to join its staff bank to help in the fight against coronavirus.

Jane Dickson, chief of nursing and midwifery at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, said: "In the Spring we were so fortunate that a number of people who had recently retired or were not currently working in the profession came to work shifts to help us at East Surrey Hospital.

"We’re now treating more positive patients than in the first peak and so we’d welcome similar support again."
