Surrey and parts of Hampshire warned to be prepared as flood alerts are issued

Flooding is expected in Surrey and Hampshire following heavy rainfall overnight as Storm Alex swept across the counties.

The Environment Agency warns people to be prepared with flooding possible along the Upper River Wey.

Areas around Farnham, Frensham, Godalming, Guildford, Alton, and Bordon could be affected.

Flood alerts for the River Rythe from Oxshott to Thames Ditton, and the River Hogsmill from Ewell to Kingston upon Thames have also been issued.
