Surrey and East Hampshire's rail operator has confirmed it is having to cut back on services due to the impact of coronavirus.

South Western Railway says a high number of train crew have either tested positive for Covid-19 or are self-isolating.

As of Monday this week (4 January), fewer trains are running.

Services affected include:

Removal of the three additional Epsom to Waterloo services in the morning peak

Reduction of service between Shepperton and London Waterloo (via Wimbledon) to one train per hour in both directions

Reduction of some Salisbury to Waterloo services

Removal of the twice daily Salisbury to Bristol services

The operator has apologised to passengers - saying it will keep the situation "under constant review and continue to do all we can to provide sufficient capacity, while also keeping our customers and colleagues safe."
