Man hospitalised and two people arrested following six vehicle crash in Weybridge

A man has been taken to hospital and two people arrested following a six vehicle crash in Weybridge over the weekend.

Surrey Police say five cars and an HGV were involved in the collision on the A417 Balfour Road at around 12:40am on Saturday (15 July).

One person, a man in his sixties, was taken to hospital.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of a number of driving related offences, including failing to stop for police and theft of a motor vehicle.

Surrey Police said in a statement:

"The matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) as the driver of one of the cars involved previously came to the notice of the police prior to the collision."
