Surrey Heartlands CCG: Over 50s must wait to be contacted for second covid jab

They say you do not need to call the NHS

Do not contact the NHS to make your coronavirus vaccination appointment - if you are in the top nine priority groups and have not yet had your second jab.

That from Surrey Heartlands CCG, which says over 50s who have had their first jab, and others in the top nine groups, need to wait until they are contacted by the NHS, or their GP-led vaccination site.

It comes after last week's announcement that the gap between the two doses was being narrowed from 12 to 8-9 weeks.

The CCG says it is to ensure people have the strongest possible protection from the virus at an earlier opportunity.

Those who got their first jab at a national vaccination site should already have a second appointment. If there are issues related to this, you can call 119.
