After a challenging year, children and parents are being encouraged to say thank you.

COVID-19 has put additional work and responsibilities on teachers and support staff across the area with schools being responsible for things like setting up their own testing hubs for students and supplying kits for teachers and young people.

National Thank A Teacher Day is now a chance to celebrate schools, colleges, teachers and support staff across the country.

You could send a short video message of thanks, post to social media or send a free personalised thank you e-card here.

Also on the Thank a Teacher website you will find lots of activities from the Thank a Teacher Day quiz to Guess the Celebrity School Report and there's even a recipe for Naydia Hussains Chop Chip Pan Cookie.
