Registered sex offender sentenced after breaching prevention order
He will spend 40 months behind bars
A registered sex offender will spend 40 months behind bars, after being caught breaching his sexual harm prevention order, and possessing indecent images of children.
63-year-old Graham Phillips, who is from Bridge Close in Staines, was caught in the act, but officers who were monitoring him.
He was caught speaking to three children on the banks of the River Thames, near Staines Town Centre in August 2022.
After his arrest, officers were able to determine he had been regularly trying to communicate with the boys, who were all aged 12, whilst they were on their summer holidays.
Phillip's mobile phones were searched, and separate indecent images of children were discovered.
He was remanded in prison, and pleaded guilty to breaching his sexual harm prevention order and possession indecent images of children.
At his sentencing, a judge ordered him to spend the next 40 months behind bars.
Detective Inspector Ellen McLachlan who leads the High Harm Perpetrator Unit at Staines said; "The quick and successful apprehension of Mr Phillips before his offending could escalate, is a great example of the dedication and proactive policing work done by the High Harm Perpetrator Unit."
