New LGBTQ+ Employee Network in Surrey
The network was launched last Wednesday by Pride in Surrey
Pride in Surrey has launched a new LGBTQ+ Employee Network.
The network will partner with small businesses in the area, and will provide a platform to allow employees to connect confidentially, whilst also working with employers to help them make their businesses more inclusive.
"It's about making sure we educate on the challenges and how we overcome those challenges."
The network will also give employees the opportunity to take part in social events and attend virtual meetings every month. The network is free for employees to join.
Stephen Ireland, the founder of Pride in Surrey, said "The Surrey LGBTQ+ network for employees and employers has been created to collect employee's voices and share with employers what they are doing right, and what they might need to change to become more inclusive and diverse as a workplace.
"Surrey is a great place to work, live and visit and it's about sharing successes and it's about making sure that we educate on the challenges and how we overcome those challenges so that we can better improve the areas that we work."
"We're also hoping that businesses out there that become network members will share their safe spaces and share their knowledge, and of course put on things as well for us. It's a collaboration, it's not just our network, it's the community network as part of Pride in Surrey."
