£5,000 reward offered after series of sexual exposure incidents in Woking

A £5,000 reward is being offered in return for information on a series of indecent sexual exposure incidents in Woking.

There have been a string of offences along the Basingstoke Canal towpath over the last 18 months involving female victims ranging from young teenagers to much older people.

The victims were flashed at or or approached, in an intimidating and suspicious way.

Some of the key dates include:

Friday 15 January at around 12:30pm

Thursday 17 December at around 8pm

Tuesday 1 December at around 4.40pm

Friday 20 November at around 7.30am

Tuesday 29 September at around 6.30pm

To support Surrey Police with their investigation, Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £5,000 for information the charity exclusively receives hat leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people linked to these sexual exposure incidents

Glenys Balchin, Regional Manager for Surrey & Sussex at the charity Crimestoppers, said:

“These indiscriminate incidents must stop, which is why we are making this appeal. We believe that answers lie in the community to identify and stop whoever is responsible. Our charity believes in safe communities and we hope our reward will help to find this person.

“Do you know anyone who has been acting in a strange way or were you walking or driving in the area when any of these incidents took place.

"Perhaps you have dashcam footage or CCTV images that may reveal something. You can contact our charity 100% anonymously, always, with what you know.

“Please do call 999 as soon as you’re able to if you find yourself a victim of a sexual exposure. It is important to trust your instincts and if you think a situation is getting worse, find a way to escape.

"Put a distance between yourself and the other person if you can. The police assure us that they are regularly present in the area, however do always remain vigilant and careful when in the vicinity.”
