Police investigate potentially dangerous 'traps' set in Surrey park
Fishing lines have been set at different heights, intending to trip or hurt people or animals
An investigation is underway after potentially dangerous traps were set up in a Surrey Park.
It's believed they have been made using fishing line set at different heights, with the intention to trip or hurt people or animals passing through Priory Park in Reigate.
Surrey Police say they want to find the people involved because the traps could have caused serious injuries.
In a statement on Facebook the force said:
"Reigate & Banstead Borough Council have also been made aware and their Greenspaces team will monitor the area for additional traps.
"This incident had the potential to cause serious injuries and we would like to identify those involved as soon as possible.
"If you have any information that could assist our investigation, including photos of this or any other traps found in Priory Park, please DM us quoting PR/45240120564.
"If you come across a trap yourself, please do not touch it, but immediately report it to the police or the council. We can then advise you on what steps to take next."
