Police warning to vehicle owners in Rushmoor
Police in Rushmoor have issued an alert to all vehicle owners following a number of thefts, and attempted thefts, from cars in recent days.
Officers have received a number of reports, including in Aldershot and Farnborough, and are reminding residents to be extra vigilant and make sure their vehicles are secure.
The force added they are “taking these reports seriously" and are following up all lines of enquiry.
On Friday 6 August, police were called to reports of two men and a woman attempting to get inside cars on Tanner Street, Aldershot.
A set of car keys and cash were taken from the vehicles. Officers attended the scene and later arrested three people on Queen’s Avenue, Aldershot.
An 18-year-old man from Aldershot, a 32-year-old man from Farnborough and a 33-year-old woman from Aldershot were arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.
They have all been released under investigation and enquiries are ongoing
Rushmoor Inspector Kirsten Troman said: “Please continue to report any suspicious activity to us. Either on 999 if it’s happening now, 101 or via our online reporting tool.
“All reports help us build up an intelligence picture and help us target our resources and ultimately, identify offenders.”
