Police have been given further time to hold a man arrested in Surrey on suspicion of terror offences.

The 47-year-old is being questioned by detectives after he was detained in Redhill last Friday (8 January) under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act (2006) as part of an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing South East.

A search of the address has been completed and enquiries remain ongoing.

On Saturday (9 January), a warrant of further detention was obtained at Westminster Magistrates' Court, meaning officers could detain the man in police custody until Friday 15 January.

Yesterday (14 January) the same court granted a warrant of further detention until Friday 22 January.
