Teenager charged with attempted murder as police investigate Surrey stabbing

A 16 year old boy has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in Surrey.

It is in connection with a police investigation into a stabbing on New Year's Eve.

Officers were called to Station Road West, near Oxted train station, at around 5:50pm on 31st December 2020 following a serious assault.

A 46 year old man had been stabbed in the neck.

The victim has since been discharged from hospital following surgery.

The suspect appeared at Guildford magistrate's court after being charged on 9 January.

He was released on conditional bail.

In total ten teens were arrested in connection with the incident - eight boys age 14 to 17 and two girls both age 14.

One of the boys has been released with no further action being taken, while the remaining eight suspects have all been released on police bail.
