Pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries in crash near Newlands Corner

Police are appealing for witnesses

A woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision near Newlands Corner.

Police were called to the A25 at around 5pm yesterday evening (23 February), to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a van.

Officers say she had been walking with her dogs on a footpath close to the road when it happened.

They say the driver stopped at the scene.

The woman's next of kin have been informed.

Sergeant Dan Pascoe said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or been in the area around that time to get in touch with any dashcam footage or further information."
