PCSO stabbed in Surrey now recovering at home
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after an off duty police community support officer was stabbed in Esher.
The PCSO received hospital treatment for serious injuries to her arm and is now recovering at home.
She had left Elmbridge Police Station and was walking through Old Church Path (a walkway between the Civic Centre car park, Esher High Street and Esher Park Avenue) on Tuesday (21 June) when she was approached by a teenage boy and stabbed in the arm at around 2.50pm.
The boy is described as White, aged around 14-15 years old and of slim build. He was wearing black trousers and black footwear with a black hooded top and a surgical face mask. He is believed to have fled the scene in the direction of Esher Park Avenue.
Two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder have been released under investigation and enquiries remain ongoing.
Detective Inspector Gareth Hicks, who is investigating the incident, said:
“Understandably, staff have been left appalled by this attack.
“Our colleague is recovering at home and is being given the appropriate welfare support.
“We are working round the clock to investigate this attack and need to hear from anyone who may have any information which could help our investigation, including CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the surrounding area between 2pm and 3.15pm.
“You can report information anonymously to Crimestoppers if you’d rather not speak to us.
“Local residents will notice a heightened police presence in the area as officers continue to carry out house to house enquiries. If you have any concerns, please speak to an officer or contact us through our website or social media accounts.”
Local MP Dominic Raab says he was horrified to hear about the stabbing.
