NSPCC warn of online child grooming surge

Related crimes rise in the South East by ninety per cent.

The NSPCC are warning of a surge of online grooming of children as related crimes in the South East rise by almost ninety per cent in four years.

The exclusive figures from a Freedom of Information request revealed that there have been sixty three cases in the last year, bringing the total number of cases to three hundred and eleven in the county since 2017.

NSPCC have set out a five-point action plan for the Online Safety Bill to tackle sexual violence and prevent avoidable child abuse.
