New urgent care centre opens in Aldershot as part of pilot
A new urgent care centre has opened in Aldershot for people living in North East Hampshire, Farnham and Surrey Heath.
Frimley Health and Care are launching the service ready for winter to increase access to same day urgent care for minor illness.
It's on the ground floor of the Aldershot Centre for Health and it's open Monday to Saturday from 8AM until 8PM.
If you contact 111 or your local GP practice, you may be offered an appointment at the Aldershot Urgent Care Centre. You may also be redirected to this service if you attend A&E.
There is a walk-in clinic for under-12s, available Monday to Saturdays from 2-6pm but booking for this service is strongly recommended to avoid long waiting times.
What symptoms can you visit the new centre for?
Signs of chest Infections- Coughing, mild breathlessness, and fevers.
Mild allergic reactions- Presenting with welts, sneezing, blanching rashes, itching and food intolerance.
Minor skin infections- Areas of redness on the skin which are hot, inflamed and/or tender to touch.
Abdominal pains- Due to indigestion, constipation, diarrhoea and vomiting, acid reflux, urine infections.
Breathing problems- Including flare of asthma and other chronic airway diseases.
Signs of ears, nose and throat infections- Ear pain, discharge from ear, redness to ear, sinus pains, sore throat, change in voice and swollen tonsils.
Joint pains- Including muscle strains/sprains, inflamed tendons, gout, and flares of conditions such as arthritis.
This is service is for urgent medical treatment that is not an emergency. Those who are showing signs of a heart attack or stroke should attend A&E. The urgent care centre can also not treat symptoms including: choking, heavy bleeding, signs of mental health crisis, signs of sepsis, dental problems, seizures etc.
