Money stolen during break in at Farnham church

It happened at Spire Church on South Street earlier this week.

An investigation in underway after a burglary at a church in Farnham.

Spire Church on South Street was broken into some time between Monday evening (8.30pm 13 September) and Tuesday morning (8:30am 14 September).

It was discovered on the Tuesday morning that the side door to the church had been broken into and £260 had been taken from the café till.

The door upstairs had also been smashed and two cash tins were stolen.

The tins were later found in a red Debenhams bag in the grounds of St Andrews Church in Upper Church Lane, Farnham.

Police are asking any witnesses to come forward, anyone with information should contact Surrey Police quoting PR/45210097222.
