Map and postcode checker for area of Woking where surge testing will take place
Households are being asked to take a test after two community cases of the South African coronavirus variant
Last updated 1st Feb 2021
The areas of Woking where 'surge testing' will be carried out have been revealed after two people tested positive for the South African coronavirus variant.
Neither of the residents affected have travelled out of the country or have any links to previously known variant cases.
As a result door-to-door testing is being carried out in parts of the Goldsworth Park and St Johns areas.
Everyone is being urged to take a test, even if they do not have symptoms.
Below is a map of the area where the 'surge testing will take place, there is also a postcode checker on Woking Borough Council website.
Residents in the affected area do not need to self-isolate unless they have symptoms, have tested positive and/or been in contact with someone who has tested positive and been contacted by Test and Trace.
Residents in the affected area and across Woking, are being told to "remain calm and continue to follow the national restrictions that are currently in place".
Woking Fire Station is being used as an operational base for the testing programme.
