Driver stopped in Surrey Heath arrested on suspicion of 11 offences

He was pulled over by police after being spotted in Lightwater and Bagshot.

A man who was stopped while driving a stolen van in Surrey has been arrested on suspicion of 11 offences.

He was pulled over by officers after being seen driving through Lightwater and Bagshot.

Surrey Police say the van had been stolen from London and was using false plates.

They say the suspect was a disqualified driver, tested positive for cannabis on a roadside drug test, and had no insurance.

Officers found more stolen number plates in the vehicle, as well as a set of bolt croppers, a cricket bat and a large number of cannabis plants.

The suspected offences include:

-Theft of a motor vehicle

-Handling stolen goods

-Going equipped to steal

-Possessing an offensive weapon

-Cultivation of cannabis

-Possession with intent to supply cannabis

-Drug driving

-Driving without insurance

-Driving whilst disqualified

-Breach of Criminal Behaviour order

-Breach of bail

He was also wanted by The Metropolitan Police for breach of his tag and was also arrested for this on behalf of The Met Police.
