A man has been left unable to see out of one of his eyes after he was shot with a pellet in Wisley.

Police have launched a witness appeal following the incident on Saturday night (2 April).

The victim went to the Ockham Common Boldermere car park in his black Citroen Relay van with the intention of sleeping overnight before travelling north.

At around 11pm he heard two bangs and when he got out of his van to move to the driver’s side, he was shot in the eye with a pellet.

The victim was treated at hospital and is currently unable to see out of his right eye.

His recovery is expected to take three to four months and there is no guarantee his sight will be restored.
