Man charged with raping teenager in Bordon

A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a young teenager in a nature area in Bordon.

The girl, aged between 13 and 15, reported on Friday (27 September) that she had been attacked by a man she did not know in the Deadwater Valley area

21 year old Oliver Smith of South Hurst in Bordon, has been charged with rape, attempted rape, two offences of false imprisonment, kidnap with intent, making threats with a blade and breaching a Risk of Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

A 17-year-old boy from Bordon, who was initially arrested on suspicion of rape and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, has been released without charge and will face no further action.

Officers said there would be an increased police presence in the area while inquiries continue.
