Man assaulted by group of catalytic converter thieves near Redhill

He was attacked after confronting the group, who were stood next to his car

A man has been injured after being attacked by a group of men trying to steal a catalytic converter from a car near Redhill.

It happened on Church Hill in Nutfield shortly before 6pm last Thursday.

The victim confronted the group, who were stood close to his green VW Golf. He was assaulted and his car was damaged.

Its believed the four suspected left the area in a white VW Golf and were looking to take the catalytic converter, which they could sell.

The first suspect is described as white, around 30 years old, and approximately 6ft 4in tall.

He was wearing black cap and hoody, dark grey tracksuit bottoms, light-coloured trainers and a surgical mask.

The second suspect is described as Asian, slim and 5ft 9in tall wearing black clothing with light coloured trainers. He had a northern accent.

The other two suspects are described as white and wearing all black clothing. One of them was approximately 5ft 10 tall with a large build.
