M25 protests halted by Just Stop Oil
The group have held four consecutive days of protests in Surrey.
From today, November 11, Just Stop Oil have released a statement saying they are halting it's 'campaign of civil resistance on the M25.'
The group have held four days of protests across the country, climbing onto gantries at different junctions on the motorway, including several stretches of Surrey.
Just Stop Oil have asked the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, to consider his statement at COP27, as well as asking to honour those who served their country, marking Remembrance Day today.
Surrey Police have attended the scene of several protestors climbing gantries this week, for four consecutive mornings.
The force has made a total of 18 arrests this week following the days of activism on the M25, Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey Lisa Townsend has praised the forces efforts, and sympathised with those who were held up or unable to reach their destinations.
Surrey Police have posted a video of their officers on the scene, removing protestors. They have called the activity this week 'coordinated criminality', saying it has gone 'way beyond lawful protest'.
