The largest Muslim convention in the UK, which is set to bring together over 35,000 people from more than 90 countries, is starting in East Hampshire today.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is hosting the Jalsa Salana for three days in Alton,
Participants will engage in prayers and discussions throughout the convention, and Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the worldwide Head and Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, will be making an address.
This year's convention will have a special emphasis on prayers and peace, urging Muslims to play their role in reducing the global volatility and uncertainty.
Khalid Ahmad Tanveer Bhatti, President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Guildford Chapter emphasised the role of faith in overcoming adversity.
"Our convention is a reminder that our duty as Muslims is to be loyal, peaceful, and dutiful citizens," he said. "Through our motto 'Love for All, Hatred for None,' we aim to build stronger, more cohesive communities and promote peace and tolerance in society."
