Jail sentence for man caught red-handed eating shoplifted goods in Farnborough
Police discovered him tucking in when they arrived.

A Farnborough man has been sentenced to 18 weeks in jail for shoplifting after was caught in the act by police eating and drinking items he had taken - while still in the shop.
Basingstoke Magistrates Court heard how on the night of 4 October, at 7:50pm, the 36 year old walked into to the BP Express in Prospect Road in Farnborough.
He picked up kebabs and a bottle of red wine and started eating and drinking the goods - worth £10.20 - while he was in the store.
The police were called and found him still tucking in when they arrived.
He further pleaded guilty to three other offences of shoplifting at the same BP Express:
- On 10 October, taking three chicken drumsticks and a curry.
- On 30 September, stealing three bottles of red wine and a Chicken Tikka.
- On 9 September, stealing pizza, curry and pies
In total, the goods taken on the four occasions amounted to £152.20.
He also admitted four breaches of a restraining order.
