Investigation launched following a report of rape in Guildford

An investigation has been launched following a report of rape which occurred on Thursday evening (29 February) at around 6:30pm in an alleyway off The Chase, Guildford.

Officers are in the area carrying out enquiries and had temporarily cordoned off the area. This cordon has subsequently been lifted.

T/Detective Inspector, Heather Jenkins said: “All reports of this nature are taken extremely seriously and an investigation is underway to establish what happened. This includes conducting house to house enquiries in the area and checking CCTV. At this time I would ask if you saw anyone acting suspiciously in this area, or have information that could be relevant, please contact us as soon as possible.”

The victim is being appropriately supported by one of our specially trained Sexual Offences Liaison Officers.
