An investigation has been launched by the Health & Safety Executive after a 7-year-old boy and a teenage girl were injured at a fairground in Epsom.
Surrey Police say officers were called just before 7.15pm on Monday 3rd April to a fairground at Hook Road Arena in Epsom following reports that a person had fallen from one of the rides.
South East Coast Ambulance also attended and were joined at the scene by the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service. In a statement, they say: “Two patients were assessed and treated before being taken to hospital. One was airlifted to hospital in London and one was taken to St Helier Hospital by road.”
Surrey Police say a 16-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy were both taken to hospital for medical attention. Both have since been discharged with minor injuries.
Police say the ‘Crazy Frog’ ride remains closed at this time until safety checks have been completed.
The funfair itself remains open.
In a statement, Surrey Police say “The Health & Safety Executive will be leading this investigation with the support of Surrey Police and our partners at Epsom & Ewell Borough Council.”
